A few weeks ago I deleted my Forumotion Forum because I was not sure about what I wanted to do. Also I was not sure if I and other users were not posting as much as they should if it was safe or not to leave a forum that may become inactive,although it was not.
As I and other users were still logging in.
I found out by reading some posts here that we can restore un-delete our forums we deleted ourselves anytime as long as it is not after 6 months of delete.
So I decided to put my forum back online by un-deleting it.
The only problem is that it is not on it's custom domain I bought from Forumotion anymore because I had it removed.
So is there anyway to put it back on the old custom URL or do I have to buy a new domain now?

I'm not entirely sure if you'd get it back. However (I think) the person you'd have to talk too would be LeeLoo

The good news is your should get your forum back online by putting in the following info in the Forums utilities
Your Email address you made your forum in in the first place.
Password you used to make your forum in the first place.

Now you will see your forum address you first made your forum on
your need to bring it back to the date before you removed it.

Now as for the address u paid for on FM well that will now be gave to some one else i think,
You could pm leeloo the pro admin and ash her if your paid for address is still there for you.

You will need to give her your
Email address
The url of your forum you made the account with at the start
and the url of the paid url
she may need more info like the link to this thread aswell

Well my forum is back online now so I can of course reach it at my default Forumotion URL.
But it could be that because I had the domain deleted at my request that I may have to buy another custom domain if I want one.
Which of course will have a different URL.

Sorry ...If you removed it your self then there is nothing we can do for you you will just have to make a new one or stay with the FM one for now until you are sure you want to keep your forum.

No my forum is back online because I have restored it using forum restore feature.
But it is not on the custom domain that's what I mean.

I deleted my forum myself a few weeks ago,then I un-Deleted it briefly last week to get my data from my forum account which is my founder account.
At that time I was not sure if or not to keep my forum online so I told Leeloo to delete the domain name because my forum would not delete.
But today I decided after much though to un-delete my forum

So I now have my forum back on the web again as you can see.
But it is no longer on my custom domain,it is on the default Forumotion domain.
So does this mean I have to buy a new custom domain,which won't be the same domain name I had before?

Umm not sure i think if that name has not been used by some one else leeloo should get it back for you but looking back to you saying you removed it some time back i don't think she will find it on our servers no more.

Best thing to do is ask leeloo to have a look for you and see what she has to say about it.

But im about 50% sure you will have to get a new one.

The forum restore worked because I have my forum back but I don't know how to restore the custom domain.
So should I PM Leeloo and ask her if she can restore the custom domain?

Yes but in the end I changed my mind and decided not to go through with the domain transfer.
I also decided to restore my forum,that is undelete it. Which I can do as long as if it is not more than 6 months after I have deleted it.
And the un-deleted worked because my forum is now restored as I want. But I would now like my custom domain back on my forum if it is still possible.

Well Sanket as you can see from the weblink in my profile(where we are allowed to put the link to our Forumotion forums.)
My Forumotion forum is back on the web.So my fortum is now restored but it is on it's default Forumotion URL which is all right.
But I like it on a Custom domain which is better.

If if I had bought my domain through a domain host,I could have just logged into the domain panel of the domain host, and pointed the domain back to my Forumotion forum.Although I would not be sure how to do this correctly,as I am not very computer savvy.

But as I bought my domain through Forumotion only Forumotion staff have access to the domain. So only Leeloo or one of the other Forumotion staff can point or forward my old custom domain back to my forum as it was before I deleted it.

There is of course the option for me to buy a new custom domain in my admin panel. But it would be better if it could be put back on my old custom domain,if it is possible.

Hi yes we do get that we can not help you with this you really do need to pm Leeloo and she should get back to you Monday if she is in the office she only works weekday's she sent you domain name transfer code it is up to you to keep that safe but she will help you as much as she can to get that back for you as Sanket said this is a tech office thing we only work on the forum and have limited settings ..myself i'm not really staff as such but an helper and can only help so little give leeloo a pm and let her see if she can help you out again..

Well I have just spoke with Leeloo by PM and she said that she was able to restore my old domain to my forum.
So I went onto my forum to check and indeed my forum can now be reached at my old custom domain that I had before.
I think I am very lucky to get my old domain back as it saves me having buy a new one.And my domain is still valid until September 2013 then I will just renew it.
