how do I lock my forum

I want to check first who is registering before I let them become a member. Can I do this?

Hey Debbie,

Yes you can. Go to: Administration Panel > Users & Groups > User Settings (under 'Users' in left column). Once you've done this, change the 'New accounts activation' field to 'Admin'. This will allow you to manually activate the accounts that you want on your forums.

I have two threads in the category but i want the entire category locked so no one can post in that one.
