Number of activity points

Few days ago I saw Number of activity points in Statistics in my Admin Panel.
Can I know what can I use "Number of activity points" for?

They are used in Forumotion's Directory. The more points you have the higher in the directory you are.
Also don't get these confused with credits. You can only buy them.

this is to show you only how active your forum between the forums joining in the same category like you
it is not useful for anything just an information and it is useless you cant buy with it anything

I have just over 400 activity points. How many do you get a day or is it by each person logging on?
