My Forum
This admin panel is giving me fits confusing groups and ranks.
I have a trusted friend who is my asst admin at my previous PB forum. I have him as both a group and a rank (closed both) and want him to have all the powers of the admin, but can't see how to do it. This is absolutely required because of my health issues and his need to be able to do whatever he needs to do in my absence.
So should he be a "group" or a "rank"? He needs his own color and permissions.
This is why I as in another forum about the need for a downloadable manual explaining all the options.

Re: Permissions
if you want him to have the powers of admin, you need to add him to your admin group. You also need to go into his profile in your admin panel, select permissions tab, and change his user level to admin.
to have you and him as a different colour is a bit more complicated, you would need to set the admin group to NOT coloured, then create two new groups, one for you, one for him, with different colours for each, such as you could be forum founder with red colour, and he could be head admin with blue colour. example.

Bummer - that's not going to work:( Well - it would work - but not how I'd like. He needs to be listed as an assistant admin - not an admin - like my previous forum allows. There I could list him as "staff" and give him any permissions I want.
IMO, there can and should be only one admin.
Is it possible to have him in an admin group and create a closed rank for him as assistant admin? If not - this package is not going to work for me.
Re: Permissions
you can have him listed as an assistant admin, just keep your admin group as hidden, and create his group as assistant admin, plus make an assistant admin rank.
You cant however determine what he can and cant do, its either he can do everything you can do, or only what the mods can do.
