Title length for topic help!

Please help! I keep getting this message: "The length of the title for this topic must be ranging between 10 and 255 characters" And I don't know how to change it so I can have shorter titles (other than make the title longer and I don't want to have to do that!). Is that even possible?

Yes it is possible to change the length of the title in topics

admin > general > in the box entitled forum, click on messages and emails > 2nd option down enables you to choose topic title lengths. Put the min no. and max no. you require and press save
