Calendar Help.

I have searched the topics and the one thing I came across that I thought would help, isn't working the way I'd like it to. Now I'd like for regular members to be able to post events on the calendar, but I don't want them to get the new posts from where the calendar has to make a post or whatever.

I came across this post. And the first reply to it, I tried, and that's kinda working the way I'd like it to, but at the same time I want the members to be able to post new events in the calendar too.

Is there a way to do this or not?

Edit: Also is there a way to make it so when you click calendar at the top that it doesn't open up a new tab?

Okay so no one will help? I have read the rules, I have searched the posts. I understand people have lives outside of the internet, I do as well. But seriously.
