Forum Module Problem Empty Forum Module Problem

Post by therealbuba September 3rd 2008, 10:59 pm

Whenever i put the adsense code into a custom box and put it in the coloum...the ad comes out messed up, for example, if i put a vertical banner form it comes out as a messed up box with one ad that doesn't even look like its google. This happens with every ad format that i do...Does anyone know how to fix this, i would really appriciate it... Smile

No offence but are you using the correct code?

This looks like the code used to validate AdSense

normally it would be placed on your forum head

the javascript code then is received by AdSense and returns a value to register the forum as active and enabled

Ok now try using the following code but replace XXXXXXXXXX with an image url

Code:
</form>
<!-- ENDIF -->

<!-- INCLUDE google_ads_index_bottom.html -->

<br clear="all" />

<table class="legend">

 <td class="row1" align="center" valign="middle"><img src="http://www.XXXXXXXXX.jpg"></td>
<td class="row1" width="100%" align="center">

<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-4603579601844489";
/* vertic\al */
google_ad_slot = "3329726122";
google_ad_width = 120;
google_ad_height = 240;
//-->
</script>

<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script>

</td>
</tr>
</table>

Its to test that the image will show up on the forum

if it shows up then it means that the code is embedding correctly, my fault i should have explained it properly

My thinking is that the code isn't working either because its not embedding correctly or the J/S isn't hosted correctly

sorta like trying to use an image with a broken url

We'll if it works then google AdSense javascript isn't working and another script is needed, I'm not sure if you can contact them to let them know however you can leave them feedback, try that to see if they'll update the script

I didn't really check out the code all that closely but I found that for some obscene reason (and it varies from page to page too) you have to use the flash code as opposed to embedding. A prime example is flash works on the forums but not on the Portal whereas the Portal uses embed versus flash.

Again and obscenely too, if and again this is on my site, I want to post news and have that news appear on the portal, a flash code will show on the posrtal but in the forums where it was written, only the code itself appears instead of the image.

Just a thought there to throw out.
