I'm starting to feel like a real blonde here.... how do you or what do you set or check or whatever you need to do to open the forum for members to post??

Like a Topic or The the Forum?

Topic The Links at the bottom of the Mod Panel you can unlock

Admin Panel\General\Forum\Click on your forum you want to unlock\look for Forum Statue\ Then click on Unlock

Did you make the permission's of the forum(s) so that members can only view/read and not post?

I don't think so... but I have managed to lock myself out of my own forum and now no one can post. I think I will call it a night and go soak - my head or something. This is not a simple forum....LOL

Ok... well try this.

Admin Panel>General>Categories & Forums>Click the on the forum to edit permissions> Click the 'Permission's' tab> Check off the 'Repy' boxes for members, moderators, and administrators.

I have a BIG Problem. I try to unlock my Forum but all i can do is unlock thread or posts but not the entire Forum! So where i have to look. I checked every entry in my Forum and they are unlocked! So how do i unlock the complete Forum? In the Admin Tools i checked every post and thread but maybe iam blind but i cant find a unlock forum.
I forgot to mention even that every thread is unlooked, still since the forum is looked no one can post an reply. new topics is possibly to write *puzzledme*

well again i searched and there are two categories of objects in the forum.
Category and Forum
a Category can contain Forums
I cant chance permissions for a Category, for a Forum i can and every Forum is on unlocked

ok i created a new forum like the old one all brand new and still the new forum is also looked, what can i do? i simple dont understand how to unlook a forum even a complete new one

I read the instructions and followed them carefully. I got as far as click on forum to unclock. That's not possible as far as I can see. I've been trying for 2 hours to solve this. Please, please help!

Do you mean that people cannot register ?

The forum still says "locked".

Do you mean unlock a forum in the ENTIRE forum? If so, please try this:

Admin Panel >>> General >>> Categories & Forums >>> Click on the orange circle on the locked forum >>> Next to 'Forum Status', click on 'Unlocked'.

If your whole forum is locked, contact a mod or admin on this forum.

I've done all that you've suggested and it still says "locked" at the bottom.

Can you please explain in better detail what you mean by your forum is Locked? Can you receive new members? Are members able to register to your forum?

When you say locked at the bottom, do you mean on the main forum page at the bottom of your forum. Are you talking about the Topic Icon for "Locked"

I'm sorry if I'm not understanding this properly. It's very frustrating. My forum is here : www.hydroponicgarden.net in right hand column. My web designer installed it for me. It comes up just fine but then I scroll down and it says "Forum Locked". What am I missing?

that is just the icon in the legend, that shows what the forum is locked icon will be.
IF a forum is locked THAT image will appear NEXT the the forum in the index
