"Users granted special access"

I would like to know how to make it that only users granted special access can post topics in a particular forum.

Just like the forum promotion forums here.

hi there, first create a new group ( groups,group admin,create new group,) name the group what you wish, then add the users you desire. once you have done this you can then set permisions of specific forums(general, catagories and forums,permisions) tick the boxes (view and read, write and reply) which apply to your new group and make sure the members and guest boxes are unchecked,, thats it sorted.
