e.g. they post 40 posts, get auto one star and title member instead of junior member with 0 stars, is this able to have it? ty for any answer

How to create ranks, which automatically change with the # of posts.

Step 1: Admin Panel>Users & Groups>Ranks (Click on Rank Administration)
Step 2: Click on 'Add new Ranks'
Users rankings W2f4aw

Now, you can fill in the fields.
Rank title: The name of the rank.
Set as special Rank: Select No, since you want the rank to change with # of posts.
Minimum Posts: Fill in the minimum posts, after which the ranks will change automatically.
Rank Image URL: Put the link of your customized image, or use the images provided by using the drop down box.
Step 3: Hit save

Now, repeat these steps for as many ranks as possible 1,50, 500, 1000, 2000 posts.

they will automatically show on the posts, but the special ranks needs to be placed on a user manually.

i still don't understand where you put the 'rank' so it will show in the user profile and messages. the faq doesn't really help.

i did use that faq to set up my ranks originally though.

when I pressed save and stuff I tried to see if I have the icon I wanted by my profile picture to show which rank I am but there was no Icon there, so I went back to the rank administration and tried to find a button where I could turn on the rankings but there was no button so they were already on... so what do I do now to get the rankings 'on'

backinstereo, you have added minimum posts as 50. So only members who have more than 50 ranks will get that rank.
Everyone below 50 posts, will not have anything.
For that did you create a rank?
