Hello Dungeon Master,

Well, I'd recommend Notepad or Wordpad. You can view and edit using both of these programs, but Wordpad is more stable. Smile

As Base said - they can be opened in either of those programs (or any other application - even microsoft word (highly unrecomended!)) :

Id suggest Notepad++ - its open source, VERY fast, and can open it properly with syntax highlighting/colouring. I've built entire websites and php applications using it, and its awesome!

Glad to have helped! For that query:

Right click on the file and click on:

Open with...

Choose Default Program...

Find the correct program and check: Always use the selected program to open this type of file

Click OK.

You just need to right click the file, scroll down to 'Open With'>'Choose Defalt Programme',then choose what you want to open it with.[Notepad or Wordpad.]

You'll have to set all of your file associations again.
by right clicking on a file / open with / select a program from a list and ticking the box at the bottom.
Or use system restore to go back to before the accident.
