Using vbulletin or Invision
Is there a way to transfer my forum to one of these hosts without losing any information or members? I like the appearance of those boards a bit better..

Vbulletin costs alot of money. Plus it'd be quite a slap in the face for FM.

I believe from reading through past threads regarding this, that you cannot take your forum with you. However, you can take your paid for domain that you have purchased.
Forumotion will give the .com / .net / .org/ .biz domain you purchased to you at your request from their GoDaddy.com account.

vBulletin is not a cheap forum to run.Vibhor wrote:how much vbulletin costs?
You need to obtain a license to use vBulletin. These are as follows:
vBulletin website wrote:Owned License: US$180.00
The owned vBulletin Forum license allows you to run the software on your site indefinitely. Along with this license, you will receive one year of free updates. Beyond the first year, a nominal fee of $60 (or $40 if purchased within 60 days of the license expiring) is payable to obtain updates for an additional year.
vBulletin website wrote:Leased License: US$100.00
The leased vBulletin Forum license allows you to use the software on your site for 1 year and gives you access to products updates for that year. After 1 year, you must renew your license or remove the software from your site.
vBulletin wrote:vBulletin Phone Support: 1 month: US$60.00 | 6 months: US$180.00 | 12 months: US$300.00
Purchasing a phone support contract will provide you access to toll-free (US/Canada only) phone support from 9 - 5 PST (GMT -8 ), Monday to Friday during the length of your contract.
