Privacy/Security Question
This is all fairly new to me and I'm not a "techie' so hopefully this isn't a crazy question.
How private/secure are the individual posts on the forum? 99% of my forum is public so I'm not concerned about that. I have a couple "off topic" sections that are only visible to members and I have one forum that is by "invitation only" (members can only be added by an admin).
What can I good internet search bring up? So far, my google searches have only brought up the public items but my forum has only been around a couple months. What about when someone accesses the cache from google? Just wondering as some of the members of the private forum are wondering how private it really is as we used to be a member of a forum that was supposed to be by invite only but people were accessing the post via google caches.
Thanks

Re: Privacy/Security Question
Hi, ur forum is as private as you want it to be
As for the security, it is 100% safe, and noone other than forumotion technician's can access ur database, not any staff, the techs!
I also invite you to read the thread's about forumotion's securityity policy.

Re: Privacy/Security Question
Thanks. I have reviewed those links. I'm not necessarily concerned with someone hacking into my admin control panel. I'm more curious about what parts of my forum/posts someone can see via search engine.
Re: Privacy/Security Question
ok, so under forum permissions, what ever you set so Guests can view, they can search up, and see.
If you have it so that Members can view (But not quests) only registered uses can view it, and such with each selected group.
