url / link bbcode limitation?

Hi there, I am trying to post a link with the url bbcode like:
Cabaret
However, it does not seem to parse the bbcode link and instead just displays it as above.
The "Disable bbcode in this post" option is unchecked. I've also tried it with " " and ' ' to enclose the url but it does not work either. Is there some kind of limitation with having brackets in the url?

Whats that in the bracket, thats not supposed to be there.

that ones in the bracket is part of the wikipedia link. if you copied and paste it in your browser, you should see what I mean

but is still do not understand what it is your trying to do?
Please try to explain in a lil more detail.
what are you doing with the link and why dose it have to be bbc or html?

if the link without the brackets is not the same page. then why cant you copy the link from the address bar on the page/link you want? if they are not the same page then it has to be two different links in the address bar?
I\'m confused. i really do not know what it is you want to do.

where is this link going on your forum? post,homepage,widget, etc...?

wait a sec. copy an past this whole link and past to the address bar and hit go.
It's a flawed link. so no wonder why it's not working?

That's exactly what I would like to achieve!! The switch in editor mode to the WYSIWYG fixed it!

Kirk, what I was trying to do is link to:

and NOT
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabaret
The normal posting box, does not parse the url which contains the brackets. It still appears as bbcode instead of a clickable link. As RoNo pointed out, the WYSIWYG editor can. So that fixed the problem.
