Avatar hiding "who's online" button

Hi all.
A little problem.
In my forum the online status button is being hidden by some of my users avatars, is there a way to make it appear always on top.

Tell them to use smaller Avatars

There must be another way.

Its really making the avatar size smaller or getting a new online picutre.
