Is it possible to reset the post count to 0?

Only By deleting the post.

I thought I saw somewhere in the admin panel where you were able to do that...I'm almost sure...was that ever an option?

you may have seen
Admin CP > General > Forum > Configuration scroll down to the bottom to 'misc'

but that re sync's the post count and sets the PM's to '0'

i thought the same thing as well so i had to double check

For some reason the option doesn't work.
