Banner Size changing

First topic message reminder :

When i make a banner, which i do so by creating a jpeg image, then uploading it into the banner part on my admin board.

It looks to fit perfectly, and around the edge of the banner i have a blue line the same width right around.

Now when people go onto my site with a bigger screen, they have a big blue gap to the right hand side of it.

Firstly, can i centre the banner? so its always in the middle.

Secondly, can i change the blue colour behind it, to say black.... so that my black banner would blend in. i go into colours and change "Header background colour" but the top half of it remains blue????

Probably, but I don't think I know enough CSS to do that, so you will probably be better off settling with the black background.

ok, how do i change all the blue around the forums to anouther colour if i want to in the futre?

And how about other colours, if i go and change the font colour or background collours, the only way i know ho wis with the basic css, which is gonna bring the blue back?

Well, you could learn CSS here (which is a good idea if you want the full customizable power your forum) or you can reactivate the css, change what you want, copy the basic CSS, paste it in your personal CSS, remove the code that creates the blue image, and disable the CSS again.

i just turned the css back on, and went to change the other colour's and they didnt change at all, but i remember now the blue on the forum bit would stay blue at the top as well!

ok, so i want to change the background colour of the forum section, from the light blue....

I turn basic css back on....

go to colours.

change category head & category background colours, save. but its doing nothing?

Oh, you have to delete the content in your personal CSS for the colors to work.

Sorry, its done it now, but like the banner, only the bottom half's gone black!!

what would be the code for removing this bit?

Okay, I'll say this again, whenever you want to change something, reactivate the basic CSS, delete everything in the personal CSS, edit what you want in colors, copy the basic CSS, paste it in the personal CSS, remove the code I gave you, and then disabled the basic CSS.

Yerp, i did that to test. and it worked a treat.

But if you look at the site now....

I changed the category colours to black, saved it removed the code to make the banner black again.

but like the banner was doing, only the bottom half has gone black, the top's stayed blue....

can you have a look and find the code bit for removing that too, thanks!!!

Well go off the one you have. then whenever i make changes, ill have the banner bit, and this bit's codes to just remove, and it should work right?

I CAN CHANGE THE COLOUR, BUT LIKE THE BANNER, THE TOP HALF STAYS BLUE.

SO I ASSUME THEREs ANOUTHER IMAGIE CODE THAT NEED'S REMOVING?
