how do i make a member of my site a mod? The categories don't work for some reason. i make a category, but it doesn't show up. what's going on?

To do a membre a mod you have either to put him in a group and add permissions to the group ( you can read that : Organizing Groups / Colors in Legend ) or you can just edit the member profile by the AP and then go to his permissions and update them so that he is mod.

For the category that isn't shown, a category is just visible if there is at least one forum in it

For your categories issue, try this
Display>Structure and hierarchy
Split categories on index: Medium
Save

Thanks Sanket! I was available to make individual mods, but i can't change the color of their name. i made Unknown Usergroups, included the Member, and the color won't change.

Well when you are creating the group you need to select the "Color group members" option to yes.

And about your categories not showing up, a category must have at least one forum in it for it to show up.
