Should we be abl;e to backup to our hard-drive?
Ability to backup
What do you think of this?
Do you think we should be able to backup our own forums onto our hard-drive?
I'm not sure why this isn't in place now, maybe it's not possible? But itf it is, who think we should be able to back up?
What about letting people backup if they pay for it?
What do you think?

Re: Ability to backup
Everyone's forums are backed up daily, and from which you can easily restore your forum to it's previous states.
Re: Ability to backup
I know that, I'm talking about backing up to your own hard-drive, like I stated in the OP.
I think it would be good if ever there was a complete system failure (happened to me before, we lost everything, and had to start all over again), and if you wanted to get your own forum for a website or something.
I know of 2 other forum providers (most likely a lot more, these are just from experience) that allow you to get everything and transfer it to a new one for a charge.

Re: Ability to backup
The problem isthat with that some people'd be able to copy ForumMotion's database and that'swhy the techis won't allow it

Re: Ability to backup
Ahh. Is there nothing to stop that? Hiding some important info or something? Maybe restricting a few things, but so people can still keep their posts, members, categories etc
Re: Ability to backup
I'm voting no on this, as Caihlem has said, the technicnas won't allow it because it'll be declined due to security reasons
