hello friends i am new with forumotion

what i want to know is, i have heard that phpbb3 makers did not allow html because of security reasons etc.
but here in phpbb3 html is allowed, not that i dont like it but just want to know
how come it is allowed here and is there any hack for other forums that will allow html on phpbb3
