Adds on homepage

Could someone please tell me how i could put on google adverts on my home page please.

Register on google adsense, get the code for the advertisement after creating an ad.

I have added the ads thanks for that but can't figure out how could a put that adds in the middle because at the moment they are on the left and leaving a big spot empty on the right. I would like to know how to put them in the middle on the page.
