how to increace activity points?

well i was wondering how can i increase activity points the fastest? i mean i didnt know about them first, when first time i checked them they were 1456, and then they stayed it the same figure for couple weeks and now they are 1193? i mean how is this? it maybe because i m not creating much forums and categories maybe(thought i m not sure) but whats the best way to improve on those or make them increace quickly,
any help?
