How was Forummotion's Banner Done? Empty How was Forummotion's Banner Done?

At first I thought the banner on the Forum of Forums was just really ride, but I realized at was actually a medium sized banner ontop of a gradient header. Furthermore, it doesn't overlap when the window is made smaller. Does anyone know how Forummotion did this?
