Solved Special access to certain parts of forum - help

Post by AdminBesede January 6th 2010, 9:47 pm

Hi, is it possible to denie acces to just one part of a forum for a certain member ? I tried to create a new group, but when I tried to manage access I couldnt uncheck them because as soon as I selected memebers it includes them. I would like to prevent a few members to see one part of the forum, but obviously cant. Crying or Very sad

yes it is, do the following put this, in the topic disrciption !!

Code:
<script language="javascript">
var ip = '<!--#echo var="REMOTE_ADDR"-->'
if (ip == '206.186.23.178') {
alert("STOP! You are viewing this page from an IP address that is not allowed!");
alert("Why can't you guys just leave me alone?");
if (confirm("Do you want to leave peacefully? Or will I have to help you?"))
{location.href="http://www.yahoo.com" } else { ("OK you choose I don't care! Bye bye! Don't come back!"); {location.href="http://www.yahoo.com" }} }
</script>

and remember, where it says ip =='206.186.23.178' but the member's ip adress there ( you get it when you goto admin panel)

aha, ok I'll try and see if it works. I would actually like to hide that topic all together, so that some wouldnt be able to see it at all, but maybe that will help aswell.

ok here's the problem why I need this. in my forum I added some music and one membe doesnt want to have it, so I was thinking I'd hid it...you know, like you can do with guests for example. But I couldnt.

Here's the link to the forum:Besede

You can see the music bellow. Do you think it will work with the IP thing?

well because you completely changed the topic, so just do is make a music topic so the person dosnt need to hear the music, unless he clicks on the music o.O
