Search widget to open from any page

I have a search widget on my forum that I got from Sanket which works like a charm, unfortunately it's in the portal, is there anyway of getting it to open from any page ?

Oppps sorry Sanket I think I have solved it, I had some code in there lft from the changes I have been making, I think it looks fine now, let me know what you think as I value your oppinion

Looks fine, only thing is i feel there should be a border for the search button which you removed now.
