No post mode specified problem :(

ive got 3 members on my forum who keep saying they are getting a message "No Post Mode Specified", looking through this help section ive seen suggestions of what it might be but:

1. They are all using different browsers (from Firefox, Chrome and IE)
2. They are able to post, then they will get the message, then can post again etc...etc...
3. The title bar is completed when they try to post a message.

Its more annoying to members than anythign else. Any suggestions. Got a screen shot from a member:

Can you ask your users to clear the cache & cookies of their browser please.

Also, may we have the URL of your forum please.

You will get that error when after you post, then you close the tab, then you reopen it again. Its default, not some problem.

David, it is a problem as that's not meant to happen, your meant to be redirected back to your thread/post.

If you close your tab during the redirection, and the redirection hasn't ended, you will get that message.

Ive asked the users to clear their cache and history but they have experienced this problem again, they write the post, hit send and then the message will pop up and the post wont be submitted.

I do it all the time, and it doesn't happen do me

Thanks for the URL.
Can you ask them if their browser is up to date?

Be sure they are writing the title/post name on the title bar and not the descriptions bar. i have never had this happen to me so i am uncertain what it can be.

I've just started getting this problem intermittently. It's becoming so bad that now before I press 'send' I copy the contents of my reply so I can paste them back in when it fails. here's what happens:

1. Open a thread.
2. hit 'reply'
3. Type in my post.
4. Hit 'send'.
5. See a screen that says "No post mode specified"
6. Hit back button (takes me back to the posting screen)
7. Paste my reply back into the window.
8. Hit 'send'
9. Usually goes through ok.

This has only started happening in the last couple of weeks. I am using Mac OS X 10.6 with Firefox 3.6. Forum is http://sixthnation.forumotion.net/

Have you tried to update FireFox? Clear cache?

After a lot more digging, from what I can tell, it's a Firefox 3.6/OSX 10.6 combination problem. The thing that appears to have sorted it for me is to change the proxy settings from "auto detect" to "none". Apparently this is going to be fixed in Firefox 3.6.2.
