Insulting other members or disturbing the Forum

We have had to ban a few members for braking the rules.Now other members want to know why.They don't see what we do.I feel all actions of my team are private and must be

Its up to you to make that all. If you want to tell you can tell but you don't have to tell anything why the members are banned.

You are the owner it's your forum.So you can make additional rules how you want.If you do not want your staff to explain why someone was banned then dont tell them.. simply say they have been warned and continued to break the rules there for they where banned .. or just dont tell them anything..end of story LOL

I hate when that happens. usually leads to a snowball effect. Just tell them they broke the rules and were warned.

A good idea is to close your site for 12 - 24 hours. I know it sounds crazy but, its better than having to get rid of your entire community.

For future refs: you only have to tell the support forum if they are breaking ForuMotion ToS such as: porn, torrents, ect.

This is why it's generally a good idea to keep their abusive posts intact, but edit out the abusive text and put a note there in its place: ie, [this post removed due to verbal abuse -Admin]. That way other members see that the person is causing problems.

Rather than you completely deleting their post and removing all trace of their behaviour.

I get that aswell. I just say that I don't discuss a user's problems with others and I don't let them talk about it on the forum. One person sent me a private message asking why someone got banned and I just said ,Did I ban you? Is there a problem with you? No? Problem solved." If they want to talk about it outside the forum it's fine by me. I have a rule against it. I don't allow ridiculing admin or mod's decision. Normally they get annoyed when someone is banned so....if they want to complain - not on the forum.
