Custom Footer? Empty Custom Footer?

Post by FunkFun March 17th 2010, 1:30 am

I was wondering is anybody could help me with my custom footer. I'm a noob at coding (tyvm) and was wondering if someone could help me? Perhaps I could admin them, and they could put what i need in. I swont remove the forumotion and phpbb links.

Also, how do i change the rules on the registration page to mine only? i would also like to know how to put it in a scrolling box, so i doesnt take up too much room. Thank you very much to whoever help me Smile

Ok sweet.

Go to

Admin Panel > Display > Templates > General > overall_footer (the wheel)

Code:
                     <li>{U_VERSION_RTL}</li>
                     <li>{U_CREATE_A_FORUM}</li>
                     <li>{U_VERSION}&nbsp;</li>
                     <li>{U_SUPPORT}</li>
                     <!-- BEGIN switch_view_stats -->
                     <li>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<a name="bottom" href="/{switch_view_stats.S_STATS}" class="copyright" rel="nofollow">{switch_view_stats.L_STATS}</a></li>
                     <!-- END switch_view_stats -->
                     <!-- BEGIN switch_view_donation -->
                     <li>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<a name="bottom" href="/{switch_view_donation.U_DONATION}" class="copyright" rel="nofollow">{switch_view_donation.L_MAKE_DONATION}</a></li>
                     <!-- END switch_view_donation -->
                     <!-- BEGIN switch_view_contact -->
                     <li>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<a name="bottom" href="/{switch_view_contact.U_CONTACT}" class="copyright" rel="nofollow">{switch_view_contact.L_CONTACT}</a></li>
                     <!-- END switch_view_contact -->
                     <li>{U_ABUSE}</li>
                     <li>{U_BLOG}</li>
                  </ul>
               </div>

That is the footer. You MUST leave in there the code below. Everything else is fully editable. I suggest making an HTML page and making your footer in that.

Code:
                     <li>{U_CREATE_A_FORUM}</li>
                     <li>{U_VERSION}&nbsp;</li>

Actually. On my code, I edited it fully. Check out my code below & you can edit to to your likings.

for your rules during registration. you still have to have forumotions terms but you can add your additional ones as well.

Oh and for your footer i would consider leaving the report abuse.
Anyone who reports something from that link it will go to you.So this way if something was to be reported you can see what was reported and take care of any problems instead of someone haveing to send it to litigation's to were you would never see the report.

so you may want to keep that.

Hello,

Just so your aware, it is now against the ToS to remove ANY footer links, I strongly advise that you return the links if you have removed them.
It is also compulsory to leave the Default Rules there, as they are stating the basic laws in France, which is also required for all forumotion forums Wink

Yes, this is the word from Typlo himself Wink

well there's not anything you really could ever remove anyway. all you can remove contact,stats or report abuse.. so you know you dont want to remove report abuse and that would just leave you with contact or stats.. so then if you can only remove two things why remove them whats the point lol.

you can not remove anything forunmotion or phpbb.. but the good thing is you can still add your own links if you wanted too.

i dont know what people expect.. it's a free forum the footer has to stay.. dont like then get a paid forum.

Question, what if I made it REALLY tiny? It would still be there, and have links.
