SPAMMER IN MY FORUM

I am really desperate. One spammer invaded on my forum and he posts spam messages all the time. He specified that his aim was to play with us and finally screw the forum. Plz help me. I banned his account and IP. Then he somehow registered again and did the same thing all the time. I am Soo DESPERATE. I have his Ips. Is there anything that can be done ? Plz help me...........

just keep banning him until he gets bored.

It does it every day. He posts around 50 msges when i m offline.

If you can find out who his Internet provider is through his ip, you can report him to that provider. Although if he is using a proxy you wont be able to.

Maybe have the forum set so that new members have to be activated by yourself or other member. I know this is a pain, but maybe if you do this for a short period of time he'll go away.

thats a really good idea.
But it pains.
You should do that for 2-3 months and i'm sure he wont come back again!!

make sure you ban the ip adress the account ands he's Email account
that way he will have to make a new Email account each time
you can also rewport he's Email accoiunt to who ever he is useing to make he's account along with the ip address that way the sites he is useing can block him from makeing new Email accounts

Banning an IP and e-mail address aren't that hard.

admin panel > users and groups > users > ban control

Even if mod or admin here saw your topic, they wouldn't say anything different from what has already been said.

Now, you have this spammer on your forum and you're looking for an easy way to get rid of him. Well, whoever said running forums was easy? You have your tools as an administrator: you can ban him, you can put him in a group with no rights, you can do with his accounts whatever you choose. It's your forum, not his, right? Also, you have your resources among your users: you can appoint as many mods as you choose and as many co-admins as necessary to make all his efforts useless.
