Colour background. Help needed!

Now, when you look at it. It's purple and a type of greenish blueish. Now, I want to change that greenish blueish to a dark purple or black. I've gone into Color in display and changed all of the colours that are that greenish blueish to black. But, none of them changed it.

So, if you can help and are positive how to fix it, please reply. And yes! It's the heap of greenish blueish in the background.

EDIT : I'VE FOUND THAT BACKGROUND COLOUR, BACKGROUND COLOR 1, 2 & 3 CHANGES THE COLOR, BUT WHEN I SAVE IT, IT GOES BACK TO THE ORIGINAL COLOR! HELP!!!
