Members Can Donate Points

I think it would be handy if there was an option that would allow everyone, not just administrators, to donate points to each other. It can get stressful, especially if you have a lot of members, trying to keep up with adding and subtracting points. A lot of other forum services have this feature. They usually look something like this:

Well there is a way around it (sorta). THIS IS THE EASIEST WAY, below is a more complex way if you want to use a form.

Create a topic in your forum called Donate Points. Tell users to PM/Email a Administrator (preferably a designated one) and tell them to say who the want to donate points to and HOW much. I would also tell them that it can not be reversed.

Then you do this:

Using your administration user account go under Modules/Points Donation.

Enter the user name of the person donating and subtract the amount. You will see their current points and a new value that you can enter. By subtracting the donated coins from their current amount you would enter the NEW value.

Example_ User donating has 5000 points and they want to donate 500. You would ENTER the NEW value of 4500 points and click save. You have just deducted 500 points from them.

NOW, you enter the name of the user they are donating to. Here you will ADD the donated points to that user.

Example: User has 500 points and has been donated the 500 points. So you would enter 1000 into the NEW value box and hit save.


THE FORM SUBMITTING WAY:

This way is a bit more complex, but also works. If you want to check how ours is set up send me a PM and I will let you see how.

First set up an account at jotform and make a donation form and click on share form on menu. Copy the URL link to your form to post in a topic.

Then create a topic/category on your forum for users to donate.

Put in what ever text you want along with the LINK to your form.

Here is what ours looks like:

You will receive an email (the one you set up with jotform) of the filled out form.

Now here is how you do the donation on the forum this takes some a couple of steps but it can be done. I know time consuming

This would be very helpful on my forum.
We have a member v member bet section where they can bet their points against one another, so would be useful if they can them move them after the bet rather than need an admin.

We need this aswell!

Of course, it needs to be added, most other hosting services lets you. For my forum, you need to be able to do that.

I think it will be nice option for our forums.

I wish Forumotion would pay more attention to the good suggestions...This would be great if you have online shops and the people buying can just donate their points to the shop owner. Come on guys we need to make the admins notice this. This would be such a useful thing, especially if you have created promotion forums.

So many other hosts have this, I really think it should be added here. Please Admins, add this!

I vote yes! This would be a great feature since the point system currently can't subtract from your total points so you can't "buy" things with your hard earned points. This would open up the option of forum economy, which would be awesome!
