What are the offical rules re copy and pasting Newspaper stories and picture

Are we allowed to copy and paste newspaper stories and the associated pictures on a forumotion forum. I am thinking copyright etc.
Sorry if this is covered in the FAQ or forum rules I could not find this particular answer.

So if, for instance, you wanted to open a news based forum to discuss current affairs and politics you could not copy newspaper or news website stories to start the discussion?

Well i think you can take the permission from wherever you are copying about their stance on this.

So 'forumotion' does not have rules against pasting news stories from other websites itself.

It says copyrighted stuff is now not allowed.

Right, that is what I thought. It will now stop. What should I do about any stories copied and pasted before now, remove them straight away?

Generally providing the source as well, would be better.

I always provide a link to the source when posting any stories. My forum is politics and current affairs driven so it's going to be hard when I can't post whole stories and their pictures but I do understand totally. I have put a notice on the site not to post full stories.

Well to be honest, you can inquire with them if you can post their news.
