Embedded Codes Empty Embedded Codes

Post by idnlr May 5th 2010, 12:34 am

Hello, I am a new user to forumotion.
I am wondering if it is possible to upload embedded codes for a game on my forum.
I have searched around and found something saying I should use HTML codes? How can I do that?
Just in case, here is code:
<embed width="550" height="400" base="http://external.kongregate-games.com/gamez/0001/0110/live/" src="http://external.kongregate-games.com/gamez/0001/0110/live/embeddable_10110.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed><br/>Play free games at <a href="http://www.kongregate.com/"&gt;Kongregate&lt;/a&gt;
Thanks for your help!

Go to

Admin Panel> General> Messages and Emails> Configuration

and check the radio box to allow HTML.

Your embed codes will then work

So how do I make it work? Do I just paste the code in a forum?

It didn't work... I just posted it and it just came out as "<embed width="550" height="400" base="http://external.kongregate-games.com/gamez/0001/0110/live/" src="http://external.kongregate-games.com/gamez/0001/0110/live/embeddable_10110.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed><br/>Play free games at <a href="http://www.kongregate.com/"&gt;Kongregate&lt;/a&gt;".

I just tried posting your code into my forum and it worked fine.

You might have a few rogue quote marks and full stops in there - try posting this -

Code:
<embed width="550" height="400" base="http://external.kongregate-games.com/gamez/0001/0110/live/" src="http://external.kongregate-games.com/gamez/0001/0110/live/embeddable_10110.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed>

Oh and one more thing - when you enable HTML as described above, dont forget to click on to the 'save' icon

Code:
[flash(550,400)]http://external.kongregate-games.com/gamez/0001/0110/live/embeddable_10110.swf[/flash]

be sure you have your html set to always allow html in your profile preferences too.. you have to have it on in the admin panel and your profile for it to work.

profile>profile preferences

scroll down to always allow html and hit save. now you should be good to go Smile
