Forum access restriction

Is there a way to have a forum only accessible to users who are 18 years old or up?

Aww, are you sure? I was going to make a forum that only members that are 18 years old or older and have at least 100 posts can access.

Well, what if they put their age as 18. basically you cannot verify their age.

This is how I set it up. Guests cannot view the forum or even see that it's there. Member's birthday has to be inputted at registration and cannot be edited thereafter. The forum then becomes visible to that member but unreadable until that member has at least 100 posts.

Fair enough, its solved then. But users who will put their age as more than 18, they will get access.
Also i dont understand if forum is not readable, how will the user get 100 posts? Shocked

No, not the entire community. Just that specific forum. Other forums in that community are readable and post......in.....able. (IT'S A WORD!!!) Razz

Yeah sanket, basically it is one area of the forum that is only accesible if the member is over 18 and has 100 posts or over. The 100 posts are from all the other accesible forums.

That is mostly correct. I don't want them to be over 18. Just 18 or older. Over 17.

You can make one group invisible and you must to put manually the users with the age over 18 and give permissions to see that forum Wink

From what I've gathered (and I may be wrong) from Sanket's post, I believe he/she was going to figure out a way to automatically do it. Either that or he was thinking that I've figured it out. If that's the case, then no, I'm still confused.

Thank you, Lizzard, for your suggestion, but I would rather just delete the forum and that group than have to do it manually. Hopefully, Sanket will figure out a way to make it automatic. Smile

Haha, sorry. For members who are not 18 or older to not have access to a forum. I'm not sure how you would do it. I have that auto-subscribe group if you can use that.

Nopes, thats not possible. Unless you do move these users above 18 in a certain group & that certain group has access to that forum.
