Domain Name for a larger Period

I was just reading a query by a user regarding the said title. I too feel Forumotion, can have the option of choosing the domain for more than one year. It could be atleast upto 10 years.

This will help the users not to worry, that their domain will be gone after a year or will be up for sale for someone else.

as I understand it it is less to do with the price or length of time but the fact you cannot take the domain name elsewhere. FM own it. I may be wrong of course.

I vote yes, but I think 10 years is way too long. Nobody knows how the internet will be in 10 years, and if the website will still be used. Maybe someone would buy it though xD
A 2 year option would be good, but I think it would be better if instead of buying a new domain, you could put it on auto-buy or whatever every year, and if you don't want it to automatically charge you for a new domain, you can turn it off. Idk how that would work though, unless you used a credit card.

I voted yes because I believe that people should be able to keep their domain without worrying. Or at least there be an option fir different amount if years.

Also an option to extend the ownership of a domain would be welcome.
