- Cold war
- Ancient Egypt
- World War I
- World War II (but only what happened till 1945, August 5th. 6 and 9th are just the worst example of humanity's cowardice and barbarism)

Re: Favorite period of history?
Actually, I'm a member of a group reconstructing the history of the early Medieval Slavic and Viking culture. That's why I'm intrested in this period of time. I'm a big fan of Jane Austen and 19th century culture. I would like to tell that I'm passionate in World War, but for me it's too complicated period of time full of details about "dark side" of humanity. I know, history was always cruel, but there is too much we know about World War I and II that made this time more real. Futhermore, development of technology make this time more dangerous. I like fairy tales, myths, legends and folk tales more than sad reality.

All history books are one sided. American history books will favor the United States, European history books will favor Europe, etc.

Oh, I admire nowadays a lot. I like to realize that we have cars, dishwashers, washing machines, electro cars, space ships, and every person can spend time creating.

Nowadays is great, we even don't have hand sanitizers and politicians or doctors tell us to wash our hands more often with that marvellous hand sanitizer no shop can sell, noone can find anywhere.
But no problem we still have dishwashers and washing machines. We can die with dirty hands as long as our dishes and clothes are clean

Re: Favorite period of history?
The only part of history I like is the one I came from, the '80's and half way through the '90's were awesome.
Jobs were plentiful and we all had less worries back then.

Oh I remember that now, people were afraid each of each other but, it wasn't long before it passed and everyone forgot about it.

I would not say it passed, and everyone forgot about it. It just is not in the news like it was.

Passed and moved on with their lives, yes. At least I didn't sit there over all these years and dwell on it, I had more important things going on in life through the years.
Forgot about it, no you're right, nobody really has but, it has been moved to the back of our minds so that we can move on with our lives.

The Middle Ages (Dark Ages) was not as dark as it was once thought to be.
