Admin panel=>Modules=>Portal Management=>Enable portal=>Structure
(the structure is for your widgets, (ex. sidebar calender, top posters) you just simply drag the widget box into the side of the structure editor and place them where you wish the to be on the portal.)
in simple terms when you go to your Modules you need to select Portal Management there you should have the option to enable your portal. After enabling it, to add desired widgets you must select Forum Widgets Management and do the following I listed above.

No, you just go to portal management and select structure at the bottom of the page. Forum Widgets gets you widgets on the forum itself.

Yes I listed that above as you can see from my first sentence ^__^
I was trying to refer to the forum sidebars just in case he was in need of trying to add them as well
those two generally have similarity, so just trying to help out with that issue, although not needed

Yes indeed, that is how you enable your Portal. Enabling it will allow it to show up on your forum.

um i sed it was there but it was black so on the page it does say portal but it is black and there is noting there to brag in to a box just
