Forumotion to Include IP on registration email

First topic message reminder :

At the moment, when users register an account, the only way to see their IP address is (a) if they have already posted on the forum or (b) in the ACP, but you may not always be online at the same time as them so this method is not very effective.

What we need is the user IP address to be logged by forumotion at the time of their registration and this info to included in the email that's already sent to site administrators.

It's not that difficult to implement!

EDIT: Can I just make this clear... what we are asking for is not for the
individual member to submit their IP during registration, but for
Forumotion to GIVE us this information.

I, for instance, have several areas I like to use internet from. I'd be properly pissed if I could access some forums only at one place and others only at another place. That's simple a waste of time and effort

If my suggestion was taken up, it would not affect members' access to the forum.

It would just give site Admins the ability to see a member's IP address - even when they have not posted.

We can already see IP addresses when a member posts, so I don't see what the problem is with this suggestion.

Can I just make this clear... what we are asking for is not for the individual member to submit their IP during registration, but for Forumotion to GIVE us this information in the Admin Control Panel (information which they already have).

Sophie i think we've allready this information in CP even for a guest !?

Im a mod of a Mybb forum and they have this on there when a member makes an account it says IP address loged on the profile of the member and i think its in the ACP to it is also in the mods tools when you need it

it's set for the mods you pick to see the ip address so i really cant see why this site and our site dont have it it's got to have a plus to us if ya ask me

Yes, I want an IP to be given the moment a user registers.

But then again, how about also giving us the real IP addresses of people who use proxies?

If they haven't posted in the forum, currently you can only view their IP in the CP if they are on the forum at the same time as you and as we know, this is rarely the case. Most Admins don't sit in their CP 24/7 looking for IPs!

I am not sure that is wise as in my case without a proxy I cannot access forumotion sites from turkey, they are blocked for some reason.

I have also seen heated debates about IP's and security and seen some peoples paranoia about their own IP's.
if you have trouble from a particular proxy then just ban that in the IP banning section and people who may be using it will have to find another.
