Copyright question? How do protect your forum?
Is it true that if someone posts a picture from Google or something, then your forum can get banned for copyright?
Im really confused...if it is copyright, how do I know?
Im really nervous about this.

Re: Copyright question? How do protect your forum?
No, do you know how many pics are on google.
It would depend what it was,, and if you where making money from it.
But be sure to avoid and never use any images that have a trade mark, water mark or copyright mark right on the pic.
And as far as other copyright violations that is more for file sharing things that may be copyrighted.. like music movies software etc...
But if you are just using images that you google then i would not worry about it.. but once again you dont want it to be something like lest say Fox news network and your whole forum is themed around this as it is an official site when it is not, and more importantly you are making money from your site claiming to be something else.
And if your members are posting pic's then you just want to make sure the are not offencive, pornographic or racist.. other then that pic's are pic's.. i mean even something as simple as Micky mouse is posted and on the web in millions of places.
Did you have any particular images you was wondering abaout? if so post them

Thanks again for helping me! Your a legend!
A image I was thinking about is a render.
For example a soccer player.....
If one user posts a render of a soccer player for photoshop....it has his name...maybe like blabla renders, or blabla cuts...and one members posts that and uses it for their sig, and shows the render they got it from....is that ok?
Most render's are for the public use too.
Also, his name will be credited too....so its not like we are stealing that render.
