Solved Getting the solved button to work

On my forum I enabled The solved button to my forum however When I logged in and posted via A normal account (my forums test account) the button was not there I logged into my admin account it still was not there So I locked the topic figuring it might automatically do it. But I was wrong. So how is this done? I will post screen shots later.

You are trying to do this under the options area by the first post in the topic?
