Domain renewal

A year ago I got a free domain because of activity. Now that the year is passed the domain has expired, but when going to the site it refers me to godaddy for the domain renewal, having no account there i can't renew it. Now i can go to the older link of the website and try to renew it there. But i need the founder account, i am the founder but i don't use the founder account, Only for things like this. The founder accounts password has been reset, and in the email it gives a link to activate the new password for use, but the link is to the site with the new domain, the one which if i click will refer me to godaddy. I can't reset the password, or renew the domain, what do i do?

Try putting the old url in the place of the domain name you bought.

EDIT! I accepted and confirmed the new domain and everything, and it says it's processing. It's been saying that all day. How long does it take for the request to process?
