So by saying external links, do you mean my site itself or Forumotion completely. Because I'm as equally concerned as people spamming links to other Forumotion sites, I've had it happen before.

Uncheck the boxes for guests in the permissions.
Thank you very much for the instruction.
It seems to be working.
This is a great place to ask questions.

I don't want the social bookmark available
How do I delete that? This is a private forum and I don't want anything shared on a social networking page of any kind.

You have to activated it (Google +1, Like, Tweet Widget). It is not activated by default.

Um, really, I had the Google plus 1 already scripted on my portal page within a widget.
Last checked the first day I got 73 hits on it. Was thinking I did pretty good, you know?
Then, today, I went back and it was gone!
I checked, and the script was there. But it wasn't showing on the portal page.
So I created another widget for my index page. Works no problem.
Rechecked and re entered the same code that WAS working and, still, not working now.
So, is this something you guys did? I found this link after some effort to find out the problem in this help forum.
I'd prefer to have my own stuff and not a shared widget with you guys but, if that's the only way I can have it, I'll take that. Right now I *am* using one of yours as well, but, really, I'd rather not.
But I want to know why. Why do I have to use yours?
Another preference is that I don't want to have tweet and all that other stuff: To me it distracts from the one thing I want paid attention: The Google plus one button. Most people like me see that tweet stuff an the rest of it all over the place and have become conditioned to it: I no longer see it. But when it is alone and self standing, it gets more attention. At least, that's they way I want to run my forum: And I do pay for my rights to have it copy write free among other things.
I wold like to understand this better. Some help please?
Thank you.

Very good. Thnx. You should add on to it so where people can't post just one worded posts. Because that is a huge problem in most sites and My site. Or a off topic thing lol. If it's possible haha.

hello,
for information, in addition to antispam measures we already did yesterday (a new captcha for our forums), please note that in order to strengthen the security of your forums, we made this afternoon a permissions change for "Reply to a message" and "Open a topic" that were passed automatically to "Members". This to counter the spam wave
This is absolutely not a bug but a security measure we have decided and that adds to the already announced new CAPTCHA while waiting for our research and development team implementing a more effective anti-spam system.
Of course, if an admin does not agree with this permissions change he can, at his own risk, manually restore the permissions to its guests.
However, we strongly recommend you not to give your guests the ability to post in your forums, because it opens the doors of your forum to unknown. Therefore, no one can prevent them from polluting it ...
thank you

About social widget "like", "tweet" and Google +1,
How i can remove the "flags" with the counters (on top of the buttons) with the numbers of likes and tweets?
You can provide the code without the counters?
Thanks!

Anti-spam - fantastic! Good work!
We do both automatically as quickly as we can when anyone registers anyhow - this gives us time, and we 'know' that a new member isn't emailing members as quickly as they can before we can stop them.
And, if I understand, they still can email admin - right?

Thanks for telling us this. I have a suggestion too for the anti spam system. You know how on some settings, you can turn the settings off for particular people and leave the settings on for others. Could you do that for the anti spam system settings. And maybe if we feel that somone is spamming too much, we could disable them from posting links and pictures forever.
