(Question) Forum Optimization?

Is it possible to optimize a forum so that the page never stretches? For example...



This is the normal size of how it would normally look (obviously the rezise just means that it's scaled that way.)



Now in this picture, it's now stretched out because of avatars and signatures being slightly wider than the norm. I want some sense of leniency on my forum and not make everyone resize their things. So is it possible to make it so that avatars and signatures resize automatically? Or perhaps it doesn't stretch the page?
