Additional Profile Field Permissions?

Using this "Award System" tutorial, I created a new profile field for my members. However, the editing permissions only allow for a moderator or the member themselves to edit the field. I want members of a specific usergroup to be able to modify their own field rather than any member or just the moderators. Is it possible to add another permissions option, or just make the field visible to only a certain usergroup? Thanks for you time in this matter.
