Solved User can't sign up

uwfc.forumotion.com

I have a new user with email address of who is trying to register but cannot, it tells him that his email address is in use. He claims that he has not registered on a forumotion site before. How would I go about fixing this.

I wouldn't share their emails!

Go to user groups>user options>Allow new members : Yes> Save.

well if that message is coming up then he is using a email that either him or another member has used already, ask him if it's a shared email account and if he has any other friends or family that belong to your forum that may be using the same email.

But wait first i would do a members search for the email.

Go to

Admin panel>User and groups>groups

past the email address in search and see if it comes up.
If it dose not?

then go to Inactive user list and see if he is in there not activated yet. the list will be located on the top left hand side. titled inactive users

Then if all that fails, you can register him with any email, activate him and go and change the to his email via his profile in the admin panel.

Oh in the future please do not post email address in the open for others to see.Thanx

No it didn't work, the box was already ticked to yes. Other users havent had a problem registering. This one claims to have never registered here although I have a feeling he may have and forgotten which is why I posted his email address at first. His problem is its saying email address in use. I had him send an email to support also so Ill wait for his response and then go from there.

Yeah if the email is being used it will come up in a members search.
So then that means he may not be activated. May be the activation link went to his spam folder or something,

But then if it dont show in either of them places.
I would just register him your self, with a fake email, then go in and edit his email in the profile via admin panel. LOL like i said above Smile
