    In progress Forum Problems

Post by cheesy October 14th 2011, 7:30 pm

Hello there. I would like to ask the people here about a problem on a forum. I am an admin on a football forum called the 12th man.

I am the second in command, however the other admin, who is forum founder is currently unable to access the forum. He told me to change a setting on the admin panel, however it has now turned out that I cannot access it. I cannot do this, or ban members either.

Do you know how I would be able to fix both of these problems?

It's just that today is our first day under our new name, as we will be moving to our own domain. It is very unprofessional for us to experience major problems on the very same day as we have done this.

Thanks, all help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

What settings are you being asked to change? Can he/she access the founder tools? https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/

If not its recommend that the founder ask for a password reset here themselves.

I am being asked to change e-mail/password setting so that he, the forum founder, can access the forum again, as it currently doesn't let them when they try to log-in.

I would be able to simply change it no bother, but it will now no longer let me access the admin panel, for a reason that is unbeknown to me.

The forum founder and senior admin himself is on the forum, so if I get him to post in here, he will be able to give you more details on his current predicament.

    Hi.

I'm the admin and founder of the site in question here.

Its basically exactly like Cheesy said. I have already told you what happened in one of the PM's I sent you and I gave you the information needed for you to reset the password but you didn't respond with anything on that topic.

I thought it would be fine today when Cheesy came on as I thought he would be able to access the panel and take the restriction that doesn't let mods and admins recover their passwords off but he isn't able to access the admin panel as he said so we really don't have much solution to the issue with my password just now which leaves us with a huge problem as we cannot do anything to the forum like we were planning to last night.

I will happily PM you the information again so you can try and sort the problems we are having.

    Thanks Smile

Have you tried to use the Utilities Tool to access your administration panel?

Only the founder can use it: https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/

You have to have the original email and username that were used to create the forum.

So can you log onto the Utilities? If you can then you can access the AP.

    See if this works:

Add this after your forum URL: /admin

    For example:

    www.example.forumotion.com/admin

Edit - Sorry, it will not work because you can not log onto your forum.

None of these suggestions can be done, because Hibbies is unable to log-in.

Can one of you not access the forum yourselves and make the necessary changes.
