In progress nav links "you must provide a menu name"

I'm in
display/headers and navigation/nav links
under "you have no new messages" section, where i want to change the pictures, so i input the links to the pics i want to use, and when i try to save it is gives me an error "You must provide a menu name" but there is a menu name in each box and it's greyed out so i can't change anything and can't get past this page.
Any solution?
