problem with reputation system

I have everything turned on, but only the thanks button works..
I would like to have it working and modify it to the same as i had on my phpbb2 board before i changed to invision..

I deleted the -
And added a thumbs up icon, so that members could get points for every thumbs up they received..

Firstly, does the points system work in invision?
if so, how can i get it working, and how can i edit it?
I edited in templates on phpbb2, im guessing ill need css code?

I made a mistake, its actually called "reputation" system..

The + and - dont show up, but i have it activated..
I need to activate this again, and somehow delete the - so it cant be used, and add a thumbs up icon instead of the + button.

Any help please?
I need this feature back in my forum for my members if at all possible..

Ok, i now have the reputation bar showing up, its a + and - sign...
Is there a way i can change this to an image without template editing?
im using invision..
