Member cannot login
Hi there
I have one member who has posted onto my forum previously now today he has received a message saying his login details are inactive or incorrect password.
He told me what his password was and I received the same message when i tried to login on his behalf. I have tried to change is password within the modify user area and it still wont let this account login.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Member cannot login
Good Afternoon and happy new year to you and your members.
Can you please take a look at the following settings.
Step 1
Go to ACP >> Users & Groups tab
Users
Inactive Users
See if the member is in the settings there if he/ she is then ok there account.
Step 2
ACP >> Users & Groups Tab
Users
Search users >> type in the user's name and one you find that member click on the scroll right down to the bottom of the page you should see this
make sure the member is active tick No then SAVE then do this again but mark it as YES and SAVE.
Step 3
Go to the members profile and change the password and then Email them with a new password
once the member has logged in get them to change there password to some thing they know.
One if not all of the following steps should fix there problem.

Re: Member cannot login
I think this is fixed now, I changed the password and it then enabled me to log in which it didn't do previously. Fingers crossed the member will be ok.
Thanks again for your help.

Re: Member cannot login
Best thing to do is to keep this open until your member has got in and changed there password and then let us know if all's well
make sure you Email the Member with the new password and het them to change it once logged in.

Re: Member cannot login
Hi ape
I emailed the member through the button on the modify user screen, he is now claiming not to have received said email. Is there any way of tracing?
Thanks

Re: Member cannot login
No sorry there is no way of tracking the Email sorry,
The best thing to do is to Email the member from your home Email address or take a look in he's profile to see if he has got it set for no Emails to be sent to him if its set to no Emails Change it to let you send it and then resend the info by /email again.
In he's profile your looking for this setting
Preferences Tab
Allow members to contact me by e-mail : set it to YES then save

Re: Member cannot login
Only if you are the founder, go to:
AP>General>Forum>Forum deletion.
You then have to type the word DELETE into the box provided. You will receive an e-mail asking you for a final confirmation. Be very sure this is what you want to do as once done it is irreversible.

I don't think you can. You just become an inactive member after a while.

You should have made your own thread not post in some one else s That has nothing to do with the topic
If you pm one of the admin's here I'm sure they will help you as we can not delete our own accounts on this forum..
