In progress Forum Log In Issue

Post by emanger Sun 23 Dec 2012 - 19:20

Hi,

I recently made a topic discussing my forum technical issue, but Jophy locked and garbaged it without anyone being able to help me. I paid $50 for this service, and all of my users cannot sign into their accounts due to a technical error on your end.

All of the user's passwords were corrupted, even mine was - I had to ask an admin here to unlock admin request of password to retrieve my account.

I expect someone to resolve this issue, or issue a full refund of $48 of which I paid for this service.

I hope we don't have to take this farther than it needs to go, as I am trying to be nice here. You sell a service, I expect top grade quality.

Thank you,
Erik

If no resolve is found, I expect ForuMotion to refund my paid money in full, and transfer my domain to my host (so I can host it myself).

I don't really see what the problem is. You have only mentioned you want the money back. Please explain, what exactly is the problem?

I think he's talking about this thread: https://help.forumotion.com/t117743-forum-logging-in-issue

He also said his forum had been stolen. https://help.forumotion.com/t116904-forum-stolen

Maybe someone is still hacking it.

Try this change one of the accounts and try to log in with that account. Then inform the member of the change and inform him/her that they can change the information after logging on.

Hello,

You don't have any technical issue, that's only passwords issue.
The only way to change the passwords of members of a forum, is to have access to the admin account. If you think that someone was able to do that, we can help you to take back the control of it.

Refund isn't possible.
First, Forumotion is a free service. You chose to purchase a domain name. If you want to transfer it, please see the conditions below :
https://help.forumotion.com/t105014-remove-transfer-a-personalized-domain-name
Then, your issue has nothing to do with a technical problem from the service.

Thank you

$50 to remove ads, copyright, domain, etc.

The only other two people who had access are the network admins for my school, I don't think they would do that.

All I can say is, I'm going to be leaving ForuMotion and possibly filing a lawsuit or somehow to get the lost money from this service.

Since you have chosen your way of action in the future without really trying to sort the problem you face or even explain it, there is nothing else we can do.

Is this solved?

what is the problem, he dont seem to be explaining much.

If your members are having a problem with their password and can not log in, then either have them click the forgot password option so they are sent a new pass to their email they used to register on the forum with.

Or just change the pass to something temporary for them to log in with and then they can change the pass to what they want when they are logged in.

Leeloo is saying there is nothing wrong with your forum, She is not going to tell you that if there was something wrong, so it seems to me you just have some members that forgot their password and need a new one.

In addition help us help you.
I have read the other two threads and how are we to see if there is a problem if we are unable to register and see for our self's.

Then the other thread where you say you think a admin may have changed all your information. If you are the founder, no other admins can change your pass for a founders account, If they have figured out your pass then logged in as the founder and changed it.. then you can go to forumotion utilities tool and log in there to fix it all.

You must log in with the email and pass you used when creating the forum
https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/

Other then that i dont know what to tell you, we have no way knowing what may be wrong if we have no way to register and test our self's, and once again leeloo said there is no problems with the forum.

Tell your members to send them self a new pass bu clicking on forgot pass word, or you give them a temp pass to log in with and they can change it to what they want when they log in thumleft

This user already asked for the transfer of his domain name.

He also sent a newsletter to all his members on December 5 to inform them that he will change the password and username of each one of them to avoid "corruption" and he has ensuring them that he hasn't any control on their sensitive information.
He also told them that he will transfer the forum on his own server soon.
So I guess that this user only tried to have a refund of his credits by claiming a technical problem that doesn't exist.

emanger wrote:$50 to remove ads, copyright, domain, etc.

Once again emanger, if you think that you've been victim of an hack of your accounts, we can help you to retrieve your forum as it was.
But if you don't need this help, please mark this topic as solved Wink

Thank you very much !
